Dog clicker is a wonderful device that gives dog owners a great opportunity to train their dog efficiently without having to go through many troubles or expenses. Although, even after having gained worldwide recognition, this technique has had quite a few oppositions.
There have been various misconceptions about this training method. One of them being that the dog stops performing the trick without the use of a dog clicker. This is not true as the clicker is only used for a specific period of time and is discontinued once it is registered with dog’s brain. Another myth about it is that the dogs get distracted by other people’s clicks. This again is not true as in most cases it has been found to respond to only its owner’s clicker and gets used to the other clickers buzzing in the background.
People also have this belief that if the owner stops carrying any treats when dog grows up, the dog will fail to respond to the dog clicker or will stop performing the said tricks. Again, these are all misconceptions that come with it and should be avoided. The best thing to do is to experience it for you and build a better relationship with your dog rather than going for someone else’s verdict.
